Holistic Freedom International, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes. This designation also allows us to make distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or its future equivalents.

We strengthen our work by equipping individuals and groups with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to serve effectively and sustainably. Through strong partnerships with faith-based and community organizations, we maximize impact and create lasting results.

Our strategy centers on empowering future generations while honoring and leveraging the wisdom, experience, and contributions of seniors to strengthen intergenerational connections and community resilience. At Holistic Freedom International, Inc., we believe true community strength is built through these connections. We actively engage seniors as mentors, leaders, and storytellers who help shape and empower youth. Through meaningful relationships grounded in purpose and shared growth, we create opportunities for both seniors and young people to thrive—learning from one another, enhancing well-being, and building a lasting legacy of mutual benefit for our community.

Our Services

Holistic Freedom International (HFI) provides holistic services that address physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs while building sustainable futures for individuals, families, and communities. Our work focuses on empowerment, capacity-building, and advocacy, with programs in the United States and Ethiopia.

Services in the United States

Building Self-Sufficiency & Economic Empowerment

We strengthen economic stability through workforce development, income-generating skills training, microenterprise development, business startup support, financial access pathways, management training, and marketing assistance.

Leadership & Organizational Development

We equip faith leaders, community leaders, nonprofit boards, and educators with leadership, governance, and organizational management skills to strengthen community institutions.

Advocacy & Policy Change

We promote systems change by addressing structural barriers and advancing policies that expand opportunity and equity for underrepresented communities.

Business & Ministry Fairs

We host biannual fairs that increase visibility, showcase products and services, and connect businesses, ministries, volunteers, and partners.

Community Engagement & Education

We organize outreach events, conferences, workshops, and seminars to raise awareness and encourage participation in building healthy, sustainable families and communities.

Next Generation Empowerment

We support children and youth through early childhood development, academic support, college readiness, youth empowerment programs, workforce readiness, life skills development, and leadership training.

Faith-Based Capacity Building

We provide development and management support for churches and ministries, including fiscal management, strategic planning, program evaluation, reporting, and resource mobilization.

Missionary & Volunteer Engagement

We prepare and send missionaries and volunteers to Ethiopia through cultural orientation, logistical coordination, and visa facilitation.

Humanitarian Assistance

We mobilize and channel humanitarian assistance to Ethiopia and other African countries during crises and urgent need.

Services in Ethiopia

In partnership with Talita Rise Up, an indigenous nonprofit committed to the well-being of women and children, HFI provides holistic, life-changing support in Ethiopia.

Support for Women and Girls

We address the physical, emotional, psychosocial, economic, and spiritual needs of survivors of violence, internally displaced women and girls, and returnee migrant domestic workers.

Needs Assessment & Documentation

We assess the impact of violence and document human rights abuses and trauma experienced by women and girls, particularly in conflict-affected regions.

Safe Homes & Shelter Expansion

We strengthen existing safe homes and support the development of comprehensive shelters for survivors of violence.

Crisis Response Systems

We support the development of a 24-hour crisis response hotline to provide immediate emergency and law enforcement support.

Community Awareness & Prevention

We conduct training, community dialogues, and collaborative interventions aimed at preventing and reducing violence against women and girls.

Reintegration & Resettlement

We assist returnee migrant workers and internally displaced women by providing support services and resources to help them rebuild their lives and reintegrate into their communities.

Through these services, HFI builds bridges of hope, dignity, and opportunity — empowering communities to thrive in the United States and Ethiopia.

Community Development

Carry out community outreach, conferences, workshops and seminars to promote community awareness toward building healthy sustainable communities

Women Empowerment

Assisting with business startups, training, increased access to resources, and management services; Conduct training workshops and business fairs geared towards promoting visibility and sustainably.

Partnership

Establish partnership, collaboration, and networking with faith-based and, community
organizations, charitable institutions, and relevant stakeholders towards sharing of experience, expertise and resources,

Crisis Intervention

Establish crisis intervention and restorative justice centers that provide emergency shelter, legal services, and counselling for women and girls exposed to violence against women and girls.

Peace Keeping/
Ethiopia

Peace through sustainable development: resettling the internally displaced persons and returnees in Ethiopia; Conducting national peace and reconciliation conferences.

Exchange

Cultural and educational exchange programs between USA and Ethiopia
for technical skills transfer and promoting their old ties.

Logistics

Provide cultural and country awareness training for volunteers and exchange program
participants who travel to Ethiopia; Facilitate and coordinate visa issuance and logistics.
